A repeat of the very successful ride in January 07. Hoping this will be a lovely sunny day and riding on fast flowing dry singletrack trails. We’ve made some slight amendments to the January ride to add in a bit more singletrack and taken out the killer climb onto the Monarch’s Way. Phew!
Directions: Whiteways Car Park is off the large roundabout where A29 & A284 join. Looking at map link below it is shown as ‘parking & picnic area’ on left in ‘Houghton Forest’. If you see loads of motorbikes you are in the right car park.
Start Time: 10.30am (use link above for car park location), nearest train station Amberley (with a nice climb to warm your legs up!!), bring plenty to eat & drink as there’s nothing on trail but cafe hut back at car park when return.

Looks like fun, if i could impose on the lovely mike for a lift if possible? we can chat more about jobbing that tree you mentioned last time we were out…
Hi Jim
No problem, I can collect you.
Please remind me closer to the date though, my memory is beginning to fade!
Cheers
I’ll try to make this one as I missed it last time.
What is the start time?
Start time will be confirmed shortly, probably be around 10.30 but this isn’t definite!
Im doing the Southern area Xc race on the Sat. ONly on Open cat, more to get to ride on trails with a greatly reduced risk of ‘crisps’ or ‘horsees’ coming the other way, plus medical help on site.
Will try to make it on Sun , already done a recce over there, lots of hills, but i missed any choice singletrack.

Yep, I shall be at Whiteways on the 19th August so you can count me in. Looking forward to a Muddy @rse ride as I missed the last 3 rides
HelsBels is coming along too..
Cheers mike, much appreciated. I’ve moved now so we’ll sort that out closer to the date – i should the intarweb back on at home this weekend so we can go from there.
fingers crossed the weather will hold!
Looks like I’m not going to be there after all
I am intersted in this one – let me know if there is a place available as I guess the group is getting bigger and bigger.

Hi Jim
Send me your new address & mobile number to the Nomad blog e-mail. I’ll be leaving about 9-30 in the morning and will collect you and Mark (near The Level) on the way.
Cheers
Nick
Put your name down and come along. We’ve cut out the slog up Monarchs Way this time while including some ‘lovely’ new bits.
Hopefully see you there.
Cheers
Sadly I’m not around for this one.
Got room for a newbie,
’bout time I got on one of these rides,
Chris.
Hi Mike, i wont be along for this one after all – i’ve nuked my mech hangar and cant geta replacemnt in time
I’m a hopeful, but I have to say that hangovers have recently become a bigger part of my repotoir (sp?!) so cannot promise…
There’s also a Quest ride from the shop in Worthing on Saturday morning so also depends if we have any ‘afters’ at the end of the main ride (and if so how much longer we’ll be riding for! :O)
Count me in.
Jim
No worries, see you next time. Still need the tree sorting, I’ve had a go but ……
Cheers
Guys
Looks like rain tomorrow – if so trails may be a mix of muddy patches and slippery chalk.
Cheers
