Hi. Our rides are not what you would call fast paced and no one gets left behind
We usually have a breather every now and then to regroup as inevitably we do spread out a bit. Our last ride had some big hills (just under 500m of climbing) and took 4hrs (including an unhurried stop to refuel with cake & tea) to cover 20km, click here to see the route. The next ride is meant to be much less hilly, albeit with some small logs to hop over every now and then!

I end up riding too often on my own round Eastbourne. I think it must be doing odd things to me as I’m finding myself strangely attracted to singlespeeds! I’ve been on to the Bikely website once, but I didn’t really get much of a look at it. IIRC it’ll be amalgamated with Cycling Weekly (or plus, whatever), What MTB and MBUK soon anyway!
I’ve used it to good effect, finding routes like the Lazy Sunday, and Evil rides (from Singletrack mag) I will out up some more of teh ones I’ve done since I’ve been down here (all 3 days of it !!) when I can get the “tinternet” working at my digs. Its one of those paces that’s onl yas good as the folks who upload tracks. You can use it in conjunction with GPSBabel for either convert it to GPS data or Gogle earth or pretty much anyting.
Currently killin myself right now comuting on MTB from Ringmer to Burgess Hill, via the SDs, Black Cap, Ditchling beacon, J&Js etc 2300ft of climbing by the time I’m back home, but awesome views and PEACE, pure bliss.
Looking for a good bike shop as I wantto change my aging FSR, who does Specialised round here ? M

Rayments and Evans both in Brighton do Spesh…..but to be blunt they are both utterly crap shops, all they are interested in is getting as much cash off you as possible.
Check out the discounts section of this blog for good shops who will do you a deal. If you go to Freedom Bikes in Brighton tell them you ride with me, they are great guys and will help you as much as they can.

Tristore in Eastbourne do specialized, though it may be worth checking how much MTB stuff they do before making a trip over there. Discount details and link/address can be found under the discount tab. Never been there myself but the club founder Lisa must be one of their best customers

Was considering an Epic, but Ray’s suggested a Stumpie, anyone got any views guidance on what works well round here, I do go to Chamonix once a year so an all rounder would be good, but don’t want too much of a compromise for my daily comute.

Welcome it was me you bumped into on the SDW. Hope you had a good ride, I was a bit worried you would run out of light if you carried on all the way to Eastbourne!
Anyway best of luck with the baby.
I’m looking for a ‘club’ so that I can join in on rides.
I used to commute to work every day but haven’t done this for about 7 years so am well out of practice.
My current riding is more or less restricted to bridleways and limited to those occasions that I can rustle us some buddies.
I have a preference for gentler rides for now – until I change from my non-suspension bike – although 20 to 25 miles is a reasonable distance.
If you have any forthcoming rides that fit that description, I’d be interested in joining in.
